(Las Vegas: November 12, 2007) – This New Year’s Eve, Fashion Designer Lana Fuchs and the Emerald Dream Team will host an unforgettable evening, filled with music, entertainment, celebrities, and fine cuisine at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This red-carpet, black-tie extravaganza will pay tribute and change the lives of 12 carefully selected breast-cancer survivors chosen from a nationwide search. Co-hosted by Vegas’ own, Frank Marino, The Emerald Dream Ball will honor 12 women for their courage and inspiration.
Motivated by selfless empathy and Fuchs’ personal scare with cancer, The Emerald Dream Team will pick 12 breast cancer survivors who have demonstrated incredible inner strength, courage of conviction and passion for life in their battle against breast cancer where they will be whisked away to Las Vegas for an all expenses paid week of pampering and relaxation (final winners chosen on Nov. 21). During their stay in Las Vegas, these 12 amazing women will receive complete makeovers including indulgences such as spa packages/treatments, manicure & pedicures, and a full wardrobe complete with a custom-designed gown. Essentially anything these women can dream of during their Vegas stay, they will be granted. The week’s festivities will culminate on December 31, at The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. The 12 winners will model new Fuchs’ fashions and perform alongside professional entertainers during the evening’s theatrical performance.
Breast cancer touches all of our lives in some way. Most, if not all of us have someone close that has been diagnosed with this deadly disease; a spouse, friend, family member or co-worker. According to the World Health Organization, there are approximately 2.3 million American women who currently have been diagnosed with breast cancer. One in seven women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
“
These women are the unseen everyday heroes who do so much for so many, all while fighting for their own survival. While indulgences from the Emerald Dream Ball may not cure the disease, they will certainly go a long way in making these women feel better about themselves.” - Lana Fuchs
The Emerald Dream Ball will be made into a full-length documentary, detailing the entire process; from the selection-process of the 12 applicants to the inner workings of the event itself. The Emerald Dream will help put the realities of this terminal illness aside, if just for a week, while providing the opportunity for these women to live life to the fullest and to experience the ultimate pampering, glamour, fashion and fun.
